Tamar Kleinberger
was born in Israel in 1973 and her early studies included dance, acting, music, and singing. Having graduated with distinction from the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel-Aviv, Tamar continued her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She then participated in the opera studio of the Opéra National de Lyon, where she performed on the opera's main stage under the direction of conductor Philip Pickett and director Antonio Latella. She has participated in many master classes and music programmes, both in Israel and abroad, including a performance of Antonia (Les Conted d'Hoffmann) at the Brasov Opera, Romania, under the direction of Dr. Cristian Mihailescu.

She has reached the final stages of several major competitions. Her prizes include second prize at the Vera Rozsa Competition for Israeli singers, 6th place at the International Bach Competition in Leipzig and scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation.

She has sung with some of the major Israeli orchestras and ensembles as well as with the BBC Concert Orchestra and worked with conductors such as Leonard Slatkin, Nicholas Kraemer, Juan Pablo Izquierdo and Michael Schneider. She has performed in festivals such as the "Stuttgart Bach Week", "Liturgica" and "The Felicja Blumental International Music Festival" and the "Abu Gosh Vocal Music Festival" and has also given many recitals. Tamar has sung leading roles in chamber operas with Kameropera and with the "Fringe Opera Centre" in Jaffa. Some of her performances were televised and radio broadcast on Israeli networks and on the BBC. Her debut CD,"Una Noche al Lunar", received an enthusiastic review in the magazine Time-Out Tel-Aviv.

In the upcoming season Tamar will once again sing at the Abu-Gosh Festival and will also make her debut with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Kurt Mazur.
